Travel 'A' Tryout Dates
Note: Tryout dates revised on 8/18/2008
 
Players must register on line with USA Hockey before registering with WJHA. Bring a print out of the USA Hockey registration confirmation with you when registering with WJHA. Click here to register with USA Hockey.
  • Registration will be held in the lobby of Thayer Arena.
  • Midget,Bantam,House League, Instructional and Learn To Skate Fees are due at registration.
  • Fees for the 2008-2009 season can be found here
  • There will be an additional $25 fee assessed when registering a player on the night of their first travel tryout (Midgets are exempt from the addtional fee). If you are unable to register on 8/25, contact Bill Ross at bill@wjrinc.necoxmail.com before the night of the first travel tryout.
Pre-season conditioning sessions
 

There are currently four pre-season conditioning sessions available for registered WJHA players. The fee for each session is $10 per skater. Look here for future conditioning sessions.

U12 Girls
 

This coming season WJHA will be starting a U12 girls State League team.

  • Any girls born in the calendar years 1996-1999 are eligible to play on the team.
  • You must register with WJHA on 8/4/2008 or 8/25/2008 at the times listed above.
  • Tryouts will be held on the following dates:
    Tues 9/16/2008 6:15-7:30PM Back Rink
    Thurs 9/18/2008 7:00-8:15PM Front Rink
  • Any eligible girls are welcomed to tryout for any of the other travel teams in their respective divisions.
  • Girls cannot particpate on the U12 team if they have already made one of the other travel teams.
  • Girls participating on the U12 team must also play House League in their respective division.

Annual WJHA Thanksgiving Tournament

Dates: November 28-30, 2008

Location: Warwick, Rhode Island - Warburton/Thayer Arena

  • 4 Games Guaranteed
  • All games at one facility

WJHA Squirt A1 Plays In The New England Tier II Championship
The WJHA Squirt A1 team played for the New England Tier II Championship on March 9th.  They defeated New Hampshire and Vermont to earn a spot in the semi finals.  Sunday morning they defeated the Ct. state champs East Haven earning a trip to the finals against the Central Ct. Stars.  The second game of the day in less than 5 hours tooks its toll on the boys emotionally and they were not able to over come the Central Connecticut Stars.  This is quite an accomplishment for a team 17 boys all of whom started right here in Warwick!  Congratulations!

WJHA Squirt A1 Team Wins Gold In Lake Placid
Congratulations to the Squirt A-1 Team on bringing home the Gold Medal from the American Cup Tournament in Lake Placid. The team was undefeated during the round robin, which included wins over the New England Bulldogs, Newburyport Clippers and Ontario Islanders. The team went on to defeat the Clippers in the Gold Medal Championship Game 6-0. It was a total team effort as everyone contributed throughout the tournament.

WJHA Squirt A1 Team Wins Thanksgiving Tournament

Squirt A-1 Thanksgiving Tournament Champions. Congratulations to the Squirt A-1 Warwick Wave Team for capturing the 2007 WJHA Thanksgiving Tournament Championship. It is only the second time in 21 years that a Warwick Jr. Hockey Team has won the Championship.

The team was undefeated in the tournament and played its best game of the year in a 2-1 hard fought come from behind win against the Edgewood Hawks in the Championship Game. Every player contributed to the team’s success during the tournament.
