As we look ahead to our teams to finishing this season we also have to start thinking about next season. With the changing landscape of youth hockey, WJHA has also taken steps to continue to grow and offer our players an opportunity to do so as well. WJHA has always prided itself on having a place for all kids who want to learn and play the game of hockey regardless skill level or talent. We look to continue this progression by joining the EJEPL and now the Tier 1 Premiere Hockey League of New England (PHL) and will be fielding a full compliment of Birth year teams from Squirts to Bantams for players at our highest levels, while still offering mixed birth year teams in the SNEHC for those who are still developing. Next Season plans for Squirts are listed below so please take a minute to read next seasons program. We will have an evaluation skate for the 2008 and 2009 Birth years on Monday 2/12/18. The purpose of this skate will be to evaluate the over all group of players to determine the overall skill level of players wishing to compete in the various levels that we will offer next season, to include the PHL Premier and EJEPL Diamond level for both the 2008 and 2009 age groups. - WJHA will field 4 full season teams:
- The top 2 teams will play in the PHL and the EJEPL as the RI Jr. Blues and will be age group teams (i.e. a 2008 team and a 2009 team)
- We will field an additional 2 teams in SNEHC.
- Top 2 teams at each level will play in the PHL, as well as supplemental games in the EJEPL in either the Diamond or Futures Division.
· 16 game schedule (Two Showcases and additional games). Showcase fees included in your tuition! (a $3300 value!!!)
· Teams will play as the RI Jr. Blues for the full season.
Two additional teams will play full season in SNEHC, plus tournaments ($2000 allowance per team!)
· You won’t find a tournament allowance like this anywhere else!
House League is included in tuition (Games on Monday nights)
All teams will be placed in PHL / SNEHC divisions according to parity rounds played in September
All teams receive 2 game jerseys and two pairs of socks. Jr Blues teams also receive pant shells
Estimated cost for SNEHC teams will be similar to last season’s fees.
Estimated combined cost for Jr Blues teams will be similar to Squirt PHL/EJEPL fees from last season– Includes 46 league games!
